Borut Pahor is the former President of the Republic of Slovenia and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.

Pahor was the fourth President of the Republic of Slovenia, serving two terms between 2012 and 2022. He entered politics when he was still in high school. He was elected to the Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia in 1990. He was further elected to the 1st Convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. During the 3rd National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, he became the Speaker of the Parliament. A few months before the end of his term of office, he was elected to the European Parliament on the ZLSD list.
