Acrobats test the limits of what is possible, enjoy creating and are constantly asking themselves how to improve. Visionaries. Innovators. They are very rare, so they are sometimes misunderstood. But they are the ones who end up changing the world.
In cooperation with POP TV - jem, we organise live events where Uroš Slak talks to successful Slovenian entrepreneurs. This time the guest will be Peter Slatnar, Slatnar d.o.o. (Prevci also use their skis).
If you had the chance to ask Peter anything, what would it be?

Who is Peter Slatnar?
Slatnar is a Slovenian company from Cerkelj in Gorenjska. The name Slatnar was first introduced in 2006 as a niche manufacturer of ski bindings used in ski jumping under the brand name Slatnar Carbon. It has made its way into ski jumping with an innovative heel section design that makes it safer. The binding was created in 2006 under the brand name Slatnar Carbon on the initiative of fellow countryman and coach Jani Grilc. Slatnar's binding has been well received by jumpers and by 2012 more than half of the competitors were using it.
In 2016, it also took over the production of ski jumping skis from Elan, after Elan had abandoned it.
The company was started by Peter Slatnar's father, also called Peter, who set up a metalworking workshop at home in 1972. There he produced products for the aerospace, automotive and kitchen industries.
Peter Slatnar Jr., who was a ski jumper in his youth, turned to the production of ski jumping bindings and other sporting goods after his sporting career ended.
The skis were already in use by a number of top riders at the start, including the two winners of the last Elan World Cup season 2015-16, Peter Prevc and Sara Takanashi.
