In cooperation with the Forest Service, we drew up a plan for the forest area and started the first construction works. Until construction starts in the summer, we will be landscaping the surrounding area and paying special attention to the woods and walking areas. The City of Acrobats is not just a new building, but a wider story about the development of the region and care for the natural environment.

The City of Acrobats is driven by the vision of Zasavje becoming one of the strongest regions, a hub of high technology and development not only in Slovenia, but also in Europe.

The first steps towards this vision have been taken and the machines are already on the ground. We have made a train that will be used to clear the undergrowth and remove the bad trees in the wooded areas between the City of Acrobats and the main road. The train will also be used as a footpath in later stages.

At the bend in front of the City of Acrobats, we will rehabilitate the embankment, which currently contains extremely poor mine tailings material. The bank will be levelled, covered with a suitable layer of soil and then in the autumn we will plant native tree species to maintain the natural balance and improve the appearance of the landscape.

Unique features of the City of Acrobats

The city will be open to all - it will host educational activities for the youngest, the creation of new and existing businesses, all intertwined with cutting-edge technology. Young people who want to build their own businesses and those attracted to engineering will find a place.

In addition, sports facilities will be created at Lakonca, cultural events will be held on the site, and a museum will be systematically set up to teach about Zasavje's foundations and history. Part of the wider story of the well-being of all Zasavian women and men is the concern to create jobs so that local people can stay in the region and not leave for other cities or abroad.

At first just ideas, then pleasant dreams that are now becoming reality.
