Entrepreneurship is not taught in schools (apart from some basics in some places). So where do you get the skills you need to turn a good idea into a successful business? There are many courses on the market, but how do you know which skills you need at a certain stage of your business and which are a burden rather than an added value? The theory is something - but what about the practice?
In response to all this, we have put together a training programme ENTREPRENEURSHIP MOSAIC, that takes you step by step from idea to successful business. Key knowledge from practice is given by successful entrepreneurs, with theory added. It consists of five sections:
1. Developing an entrepreneurial mindset
2. Team management
3. Sales and marketing
4. Running a business
5. Production and development
The lecturers are Slovenian successful entrepreneurs, experts from Dewesoft and Katapult and lecturers from abroad (George Deriso, professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado, Townsend Wardlaw, master of sales...).
“Behind the scene”
Well, the idea is one thing, the execution is another... How the mosaic was built, tells us Petra Škarja:
“Yeah... Just as we started the training, the world was stopped by the corona. We moved all the events online and almost got a PhD from Zoom. We started our first events - in a big way! We bought the necessary equipment, promoted it heavily, had great speakers from abroad ...
The day before the event, we tested Zoom and all the technology - after several hours of tweaking, everything worked perfectly. A few minutes before the event, we connect to Zoom, over 350 people join and... nothing worked. There was no sound, no connection, just chaos. Jureto and I start reading the comments - some worried, some encouraging, some rude, even mocking... The number of participants was steadily dropping from one minute to the next. We shut it all down and started again. The answer to the many comments and advice on what we should do - believe me, we did ten times the number of gestures, but shment, when it should have worked, it didn't.

But these are just the stories that make us smile today. There have been many more good times than hard times, many more laughs than disappointments. We have met great speakers and received many positive comments and gratitude from young entrepreneurs. After each completed mosaic, we lit a candle on a cake and gave ourselves a pat on the back.

Sometimes you wonder why you took the harder route of building a project that takes more than four years to put together, when you could have just done simple classical seminars. But do we really need it, has often been a nagging thought. But in the end, you still say - of course it was worth it.”
Awards, successes, endorsements
In moments of doubt, the European award for the Mosaic of Entrepreneurship project was a real soul-soother: EEPA - European Enterprise Promotion award, national winner in the category “Investing in Entrepreneurial Skills”.
Shortly afterwards, we signed cooperation with the University of Ljubljana, that the content is useful in their lessons.
Olga Knez led the project to expand Mosaic of Entrepreneurship to Bosnia, where we recently received a wonderful message: “Just for the record, here's the good news: in the last 28 days alone, the Entrepreneurship Mosaic has been viewed by more than 1 000 users and 800 active users. And what's more - in the last few days, the project has reached 1.5 million users in BiH through FB posts.” More >>

The Mosaic of Entrepreneurship is a mosaic of rich knowledge contributed by almost 30 speakers from Slovenia and abroad. Thank you everyone for your contribution!
